PLAYA VENADO

With almost five kilometers of beach, Playa Venado is the largest protected bay in the western shore of Azuero. The center of the beach has powerful waves, while the east and western ends are like a lake. The beach is surrounded by steep hills and many streams.

NEARBY BEACHES

Playa Venado bay consists of three separate beaches. Playa Venado , a three-miles long gray sand beach famous for surfing; Los Achotines, a pristine white-sand protected bay to the west of Playa Venado; and El Madroño, a secluded white sand bay to the east of Playa Venado. See Map below. All three beaches are surrounded by hills that offer breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

Los Achotines

Playa Los Achotines is a coral reef bay east of Playa Venado. It has white sands and is surrounded by a dry tropical forest which is home to many species of animals.

El Madroño Beach

Playa Madroño is a secluded hideaway west of Playa Venado. It has white sands, dramatic views from its hills, and is surrounded by a nature reserve.
